Below are the answers to some of the main queries of our
corporate clients. If your question is not answered here
please call us and we will do our best to assist you and
resolve your problem.
| How much notice do I need to
before I need my cake? |
 |
It varies. For a single cake we like to have at
least one weeks notice although in the past we have
completed rush jobs for our customers. Be warned
however a fast job will attract a premium price to
pay for our staff who may need to work late into the
night to complete your order.
For multiple cakes, particularly when going to many
different destinations we do need a little more
notice but no more than a month or so.

| How many pieces will I get from a
cake? |
|
|
That depends on the type of cake - in general it
would be fair to say you get twice as many portions
from a fruit cake than from a sponge. See the chart
below for a rough guide - however if you are in any
doubt please call us we will be happy to advise you.

| Can you supply multiple cakes to
more than one destination? |
|
|
Certainly! So long as we have
enough time and all the relative addresses that's is
not a problem, we can also deliver a cake as a gift
to one of your clients or suppliers if that is
what's required. Rest assured we do this all the
time. Our largest order of this type so far was 300
cakes of various sizes to 300 different locations
all to be delivered the same day!

| I want to display my cake on a
stand - how do I organise this? |
|
|
Most halls and venues will already
have cake stands specifically for this purpose.
However if your presentation or celebration is on
your premises and you don't have one, we stock
various shaped cake stands for sale or to hire as
required.

Can you put our company logo on a cake? |
|
|
Yes! This is actually one of
the most frequently asked questions and perhaps the
easiest to answer. Depending on your logo there are
a number of ways we can achieve this. Obviously the
more complex the logo the more difficult it is to do
so if the is any doubt please send us a copy of your
logo (we prefer JPG in a reasonable size - it's
difficult to work from the logo off a business card,
we will need it bigger than that!). We have
successfully put logo's on all sizes of cakes from
individual cup cakes to 4 foot square monster cakes!

| I've got a lot of guests but do
not want a huge cake on display - can you help? |
|
|
No problem at all. When you order
your display cake simply mention to our staff that
you will also require a cutting cake for this
purpose and we can supply whatever you need. It's
also a good way to offer your guests a choice of
sponge and fruit cake at the same time. Even better
, as the cutting cake or cakes will not need to be
so highly decorated they will also be cheaper!

| What areas do you deliver to? |
|
|
Anywhere in mainland UK. Please
remember to order your cake for at least the day
before you need it that way you can be sure you
won't be disappointed by late delivery! It
sounds obvious but you never can tell!

| I'm local to you - can I
collect my cake? |
|
|
Of course, however as our cakes
may be made and decorated in either of our two
facilities please be sure to mention this so we
can have your cake in the right place at the
right time for you!

| Can you provide mince pies
and/or cup cakes with my company logo? |
|
|
Yes! As with all our orders
simply tell who ever you talk to what you
require and we'll be pleased to help in any way
we can.

Who makes your cakes? |
|
|
We do! We make and decorate all
our cakes ourselves - that way we can be assured
of the quality. Some corporate and cake
suppliers are merely agents, we know this, we
supply some of them ourselves. When you deal
with Need A Cake you are dealing direct not via
a third party!

| Why do you not deliver
outside the UK? |
|
|
There are two reasons. We
cannot guarantee the delivery service outside
the UK and there are many international
regulations regarding the export of food across
national boundaries. Therefore we decided not to
offer this service internationally. That all
said, if you are in a position to take delivery
of a cake within the UK what happens to it after
you take delivery is obviously beyond our
control!

| I need a cake for a personal
rather than corporate event - can you provide
one? |
|
|
Yes. That is how we started in
the cake making and decorating business and is
still a very large part of our core business.
Indeed we have had many personal customers who
have turned into corporate clients and equally
many corporate recipients of our cakes who we
are now pleased to regard as personal customers
